"Non sono un fotografo di reportage e la mia relazione
con i soggetti delle mie foto può essere molto intima
o inesistente. Io credo che la fotografia non possa spiegare
niente di una persona. In realtà quello che esprime è
un insieme di tuoi pregiudizi e presentimenti. E le fotografie
migliori sono quelle che meglio rilevano un archetipo,
piuttosto che il tentativo di descrivere un personaggio
specifico. Pretendere di far conoscere un personaggio
attraverso la fotografia è presuntuoso e irreale. Questo
è un tema su cui lavoro molto."
"I'm not a reportage photographer, and my relationship
with the subjects of my photographs can be quite intimate
or non existent. I don't believe that photography can
explain anything about a person. It's just a reflection
of your prejudices and fears. The best photographs are
those that reveal an archetype rather than trying to describe
a specific person. These are the themes I'm trying to
address in my work."
